We need a four-way pedestrian crossing at the traffic lights by Fagins, Church Village, Pontypridd

I have had numerous, long , conversations with counsellor Graham Stacey about arranging for a four way pedestrian crossing to be put at the crossroads at Fagins . With more and more houses being built down towards Station Road and Efail Isaf , this has resulted in more children (and adults ) trying to dodge the red lights at attempts to cross the road. Three times I have witnessed cars having to suddenly stop in front of children. Only last week a car nearly ran into a lady with a young baby in a pushchair. Although there is a pedestrian crossing only yards away outside the electrical shop. I can understand that children being children , who are heading towards Station Road cannot be bothered to walk to that crossing only then to have to come back on themselves. So I took it upon myself to contact counsellor Stacey and he strongly believes that if we get a big enough petition together for church village then something can be done about this before it's too late and a serious accident would have happened.

this is much needed in our community. Planning for extra houses, in our over populated village is granted time after time, but no additional resources are provided. This crossing is an absolute necessity to allow children and parents to reach schools/homes safely.
My children cross this very busy road everyday for school. My eldest daughter (10) has worked out that we have exactly 10seconds to cross before the next green light. This is something that she should not be worrying about on her way to school.
very dangerous crossroads. 100% needs pedestrian crossings. A school boy has already been knocked down there a few years ago. Children always dodging the lights. Serious accident waiting to happen!
I think this is a marvellous idea and something much needed in that particular area, not only for the pedestrian trying to cross the busy roads but as a driver trying to anticipate if someone is going to try and cross the road when there's a gap in the traffic.
Trying to cross the road to get to tiny tumblers with my 3 year old, and a pram with my 3 month old is very difficult. I use public transport so it's even worse when we are catching the bus as we have to cross the road twice! The three way crossing is essential x x
I know I'm a little late to sign and the funding has already been agreed but I think this is fantastic and long, long overdue. Well done!!

I cross this road everyday and if you are walking up from station road the pedestrian crossing up near Diamond House is of no use. Cars come flying round the corner or down the hill. A very frightening road to cross with two toddlers.
