The drama program at Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe high school has nowhere to perform our productions aside from our classroom that has insufficient seating and no room for a backstage area or our sets. My goal, along with every other student at LFO that has a connection to our drama and band programs, is to have an adequate space to perform for more people than we are allotted at the moment. Our drama program gets no funding. Each of the tickets we sell for our shows directly funds the next. But we cannot make enough money off of tickets if we don't have the space to fit a certain number of people. Therefore, if given an auditorium to perform in, we can sell enough tickets to sufficiently fund our program. That is why we demand an auditorium!

Seeing the count climb this high feels surreal because I have spent so many long nights wondering if anyone beyond our immediate group noticed our struggle. We have real momentum now even if the road ahead feels painfully slow.

The administration is still ignoring us and the lack of space is exhausting for everyone involved in our shows. We need to reach two hundred fifty signatures to force their hand so please send this link to your contacts right now.

The days are long and the struggle for a real performance space feels heavy right now. We are creeping toward our first hundred signatures and I need you to help push us over that threshold today.

lakeview is the only school in catoosa county without an auditorium. it's not fair that LFO can pay millions of dollars for a new gym, which we BARELY use, but not build an auditorium. the drama program is full of gifted actors/actresses. it isn't fair that athletes are treated better than drama kids.
This school needs a facility similar to the facility at Ringgold High. LFO has been left out far too long. These students deserve facilities equal to the other high schools in the county, their tax paying parents should see their tax dollars benefit THEIR children.
Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe is the only Catoosa county high school in Catoosa county that has no auditorium. the Band and drama are both performing in places that aren't fit for a performance. It is very hard to act in a classroom, or play in a gym were it is hard to hear the other parts.
Of the three high schools in the CCPS system, two of the schools have an auditorium for their performing arts. LFO has a thriving performing arts program, and deserves an auditorium to continue putting on great productions. The auditorium could also have other uses such as motivational speakers, band concerts, and talent shows.
The drama program has been consistently successful since it was first established. With over 90 kids per semester in this class, and the band having no where to perform as well, an auditorium is past due.

So close to 500 we need this!!!

Mrs. Mchenry is an excellent drama teacher. She taught me AND my younger brother and we both love her. The space being used to practice is not too big and I don't see why they can't have at least one drama auditorium when the school has TWO basketball courts. Drama is a popular enough class to need an actual practice space.
