As a graduate of Lakeview who was in choir, and now a staff member, I fully support the idea of an auditorium for our arts programs, including but not limited to Drama and Band. Good luck!

LFO is one of the only High Schools without an auditorium. Our band, drama, and other arts programs would greatly benefit from having and auditorium. This could really expand the opportunities of our students and benefit those who attend the productions. It is discouraging to our students, parents and community that the arts always come last.

I think it's stupid we have 2 guns like we need a auditorium not just for drama but also for band concerts.

They'll fund sports and make sure they're all equipped. But they won't do it for the arts. What a flying shame. #supportthearts

In the south, sports are normally given priority over the arts. At LFO, however, there is an outpouring of support for the arts programs. When I was a student at LFO, I was very active in the band program and the drama program. An auditorium would be an excellent addition to the campus, and would provide a perfect place for Lakeview Dramatic Arts and the LFO band to perform. It gets very tiresome performing in a gym with terrible acoustics, and the music that the band plays often gets muddled by reverberations from the cinderblock walls and the bleachers. The only two places available for the drama classes to perform are in the cramped room adjacent to the band room, and the cafeteria. These areas are too small to accommodate the large crowds that come out to see the amazing shows. This also puts restrictions on the amount of money the program can earn from the shows. Since the drama department gets absolutely no outside funding, the proceeds from one show set the budget for the next show. The band and the drama programs are growing exponentially, and a proper space for performances is absolutely necessary to ensure a proper experience for the kids who pour their heart and soul into their programs. Please, Catoosa County Board Of Education, fund an auditorium for Lakeview Fort-Oglethorpe High School.

Mrs. Mchenry is an excellent drama teacher. She taught me AND my younger brother and we both love her. The space being used to practice is not too big and I don't see why they can't have at least one drama auditorium when the school has TWO basketball courts. Drama is a popular enough class to need an actual practice space.
✌
So close to 500 we need this!!!
Help the kids get a place to show their talent
