It has come to the attention of the Saranac Village community that the school mascot Redskins has caused some sort of political relations issue. While it is the view of some that the mascot should be changed and renamed, the following citizens are actively working against the change since the Redskin name and tribute has been established since the 1930s. Since then, it has only been viewed as an honor to our American Indian heritage that's deeply rooted within hour community's history. The name Saranac itself is tribute to our establishing ancestors and means "Village of Water." This petition is to support our current ideals as a united community of Saranac Redskins.
