Wasted Tax Dollars for un-wanted, un-needed sidewalk costing $250,000
We, residents of Commission District # 2, petition to stop the plan to construct a sidewalk on Cherokee Trail. The majority, if not all, of residents do not want this sidewalk. It will project a minimum of 10 feet into each property and several very old trees and beautiful shrubs will be destroyed. This is an old established neighborhood populated with beautiful legacy oaks. This is a low traffic road with no known pedestrian traffic accidents in the last 60 years.
Why spend $250,000 on something that is not wanted?

Picture shows on left, my property. 57 happy years now, a sidewalk kills all on left and my years of work and dreams.
This should be the Peoples call, not a Commissioner's call based on his "5 year plan"
Don't want sidewalk. Save $.
Use the money for something that is of more urgent needs for the community.
Place the money to where it is needed. Please don't waste it on useless project that the people living on this part of the neighborhood don't want.
Speed bumps nearer school would be a faster, cheaperight fix.
Don't waste the money and destroy the beautiful trees and yards!!

A sidewalk is unnecessary. Major drainage issues at the end of the road near the park. The park could use some improvements including paved parking, painted railings, play equipment?..
