The Parks Commission finally backed down and the geese are safe. It has been a long and draining struggle but I am relieved that we forced them to listen. Keep watching the park because we need to ensure this stays protected for good.
I do not support the Madison Parks Commission decision to round up and kill the geese at Warner Park in Madison, Wisconsin in the spring/summer of 2010. I request that alternatives be studied and discussed, and that the public be heard.
The Parks Commission remains silent on these lethal plans despite the outcry. I have been spending my nights reviewing the alternative management proposals that they refused to consider. We are not backing down just because they are ignoring the public.

Seriously? Killing them in the middle of summer? That is messed up. Stop the roundup now.

LEAVE THE GEESE ALONE. My kids love seeing them by the water. Killing them is just wrong and a waste of tax money.

This is completely unnecessary. There are so many better ways to handle geese than killing them. Why are we always jumping to the cruel option?

I been going to Warner Park for years and I never saw a reason to kill the birds. They belong there. Fix the real problems in this city instead.
