The NHS has formally committed to relocating and preserving the War Memorial and Portico. This outcome ensures that our local history remains honored as it deserves. I am grateful for the steady persistence that brought us to this result.

The War Memorial and Portico at the Coventry Road Hospital inMarket Harboroughwas paid for by the public and is a public memorial. It is greatly treasured and is deserving of our care and respect commemorating those locally who served in the first World War.
We the undersigned call upon the NHS to protect the listed Memorial and Portico while situatedat the Coventry Road site and to fund the moving, rebuildingand rehousing of the War Memorial and Portico toan agreednew home and to guarantee funding for its upkeep and maintenance for the foreseeable future.

even from down here in NZ, i can remember looking at the names and thinking thank you, this needs saving it is part of Harborough, and its people.
My wife's father Jack Sulley is on thmemorial. He served in Egypt and Palestine. For the rest his life he suffered FROM malaria caught there. Sulley is an old Harborough family. Please keep the memorial.
My Dad is named as are my Granddad and uncle (WWBrown of the building company) . With so many names it must be secured for the Town in a safe place.
These men are part of Market Harborough's history. Without their sacrifice, maybe some of us wouldn't be here to remember. This important piece of remembrance must be saved.
do not let the NHS overide the wishes of the population in this both historic and local memorial.
I have at least 7 relatives on the memorial
My Grandfather and his brothers are named on the memorial and I hope that its future is protected.

The people of Harborough paid for the cottage Hospital which the NHS then acquired so they have a duty to preserve the Memorial
