We the undersigned citizens of Kingston upon Hull and other, strongly object to the owner's applications for Planning Permission (00010674G) and Listed Building Consent (00010674H) to convert the National Picture Theatre and the Swan Inn on Beverley Road into a restaurant and flats.
We support the idea of these buildings being saved and developed as a 'Home Front Tribute' by the National Civilian WW2 Memorial Trust, who have already been granted planning permission and Listed Building
Consent.
Seeing the momentum behind this campaign has been a heavy but necessary reminder of what we are fighting to save. I am exhausted by the constant resistance we face but this surge of interest keeps me moving forward.

This place means so much to the older generation around here. It should be a memorial not a restaurant. Leave it alone!

SAVE THE THEATRE. We need reminders of our past not more luxury apartments that no one can afford.

Total disgrace. Hull has already lost enough of its character as it is.

That building is a part of Hull history. Don't let them turn it into just another block of flats. Keep the memorial going.

My grandad used to tell me about that place. Seriously hope the Trust gets to do their work instead of some greedy developer.
