We the undersigned petition the Northampton Borough Council to register our strong objection to the demolition of the former Northampton Fish Market building of Bradshaw Street, Northampton for the purpose of provision for a new bus interchange.
We understand that the proposal forms part of the Central Area Action Plan (CAAP), which is itself part of the local planning development framework. Moreover, that the proposal is to go out for public consultation for a period of six weeks.
However, the building is an iconic building of the town, one we wish to preserve for future generations to enjoy.

I grew up walking past these walls and it breaks my heart to think they might be reduced to rubble for a bus lane. I have been spending my mornings digging through the council planning archives to find a way to save this piece of our history. Your notes about your own memories of the market are keeping me going while I prepare for this fight.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am not the only one who refuses to let our town lose such a vital piece of its history. My heart is full knowing how many of you value the Fish Market building just as much as I do.

NORTHAMPTON IS LOSING ITS CHARACTER!! Enough with the concrete bus bays. Save the building.
Leave it be. It needs some tlc not a wrecking ball.
Stop destroying our history. Once it is gone you cant get it back.
What a waste of money. Leave the fish market alone it is a local landmark.
There are plenty of other places for a bus station. Keep this building standing.
