The principal has reviewed our proposal and will allow the use of wheeled footwear on campus starting next term. I appreciate the patience shown by everyone who supported this initiative until we reached a resolution. Please remain mindful of hallway safety so that this new policy remains in effect.
I think we should be able to give this to the principal to ask her to study it. I want to be able to wear heelys at school and to be able to roll to get to my classes faster. Please sign this. I\'ve asked all my teachers why I cant wear my heelys. Their replay: Well, I really don\'t know. I got a write up Friday for riding my heelys. When I get this form to at least 5000 signatures, I will take this up to the Principal of Irmo Middle and I\'ll tell her, look, I just want to ask you if we could change a policy about the heely situation. The fact is, that Heelys cannot be used as weapons, not like skateboards. The most damage it can do is accidentaly run over a foot. Now is that more dangerous than getting up from sitting on the ground Right. It\'ll get people from class to class faster. They give us five minuites to pack up, get out of class, go to the bathroom, get some water, get all the way to the other side of school, and unpack in that class. If your late, and you couldn\'t go to the bathroom or get some water, the teachers going to say, too bad, you\'re late. I just want the principal to study this idea, and to see that if she isn\'t going to allow the 7th and 8th grade classes this year to wear heelys, hopefully in time for my other friends and family to be able to wear heelys in school. I know a lot of people have heelys, its the next coolest thing since cell phones, and iPods, and all that other cool stuff that you can get. But We cant use them anywhere. you spend 60-80$$ on a pair of heelys, just to find out the only places you can use them is at your house. Not fair. So please sign this petition and help the millions out there who spent a hard earned 80$$ on a pair of shoes that you can only use in their house.

The momentum surrounding this initiative has reached a meaningful level of public interest. It is encouraging to see so many people acknowledge that efficient transit between classes is a valid concern for students.

They say the school is liable for any accidents that they cause. that is not the case because it is the students, fault not the teachers.
