With the new school year starting we have a new Principal and Athletic Director. As ALL of you know the Principal, Athletic Director, and teachers have agreed on a new rule. The rule of "No backpacks in classroom." There is a problem with the students putting our bags in the middle of the isle making the teachers maybe stumble over them. But, we can fix that. Any student would quickly politely move their bag if the teacher asked them to. I think telling the 400 plus students that attend Gladstone High School that they have to completely stop bringing their bag to class is outrageous. Not to mention, some students didn't buy binders because they thought they could bring their bags to class. High School we should be treated more like adults so let's not make it such a strict school and give us some freedom. Please Gladstone Students, Join me by signing this petition if you agree with me. The current level of support has prompted the administration to agree to a formal meeting to discuss our proposed compromise regarding classroom storage. I am currently drafting a letter that outlines our plan for keeping aisles clear while retaining backpack access. Expect a detailed briefing on the outcome of that conversation once it concludes.

I think that it is amazing that we are exercising our rights and I agree with this petition if we are expected to show up for school and work all day we should be allowed to be comfortable and bring the items we bought to help us with the learning experience
yeah not everyone has the money to just go buy binders for school n it’s extra to do that. it’s unnecessary to get rid of backpacks, and so many ppl are gonna be late bc they have to go to their locker n then maybe have to go to the other side of the school and from where they could be coming from, that’s dumb and could make a lot of people have unnecessary tardies
Please let us have our backpacks in class. It’s way better to carry stuff around and easier to stay organized.
I’m in middle school but I think this is a great idea because binders can get very pricey and they don’t last long while backpacks do.
I feel like we should be treated as adults more seeing as they are “ preparing us for the real world” so the whole backpack rule kinda goes against this.

You may want to prof read this. I think the phone in the backpack is very tempting. As a young adult you should be thankful you have the opportunity to get an education.

My parents just spent a bunch of money to buy me a new backpack with extra storage space just for school. Please this ain’t middle school any more
