LET THE 7TH GRADERS USE BACKPACKS

Saint Mary's Academy - Bay View
We are asking that 7th graders be allowed to use backpacks at school.
Right now, it feels unfair that other grades can use bags while 7th graders cannot. Carrying books, notebooks, and school supplies by hand makes the school day harder than it should be. It can slow students down between classes, make it easier to be late, and put extra strain on their arms and hands. It also makes it harder to keep supplies organized and ready for class.
A backpack is a simple thing, but for students it means a lot. It helps us move safely, carry what we need, and stay prepared for the day. School should be a place where students can learn without worrying about juggling everything in their arms.
We ask the school to let 7th graders use backpacks, the same way other grades are allowed to. This would be a fair, practical change that supports students instead of making the day more difficult.

We need to move safely around the stairs because a lot of people can’t see and it’s clearly dangerous
because i think its important to have something to carry supplies safely. people easily drop things and can become a distraction to others.
As a parent I feel the girls should have the option of carrying their backpack. They are required to have a laptop, tablet or iPad in class. Switching from class to class, carrying books, and other necessary items needed as well as expensive electronics opens up the risk of dropping them and the potential for screens to crack or other damage. Many parents are not in the financial position to just replace these. For that reason I would like my daughter to carry her backpack to her classes.
This is important to me because without backpacks holding all of my things become difficult. When we don’t have backpacks it is easy to forget things such as pencils or books needed for a class. It becomes difficult to carry a notebook, planner,water bottle,pencil case,laptop,and etc
It hurts my arms, and is WAY more annoying that carrying around a backpack.
WE NEED BAGS!! This is very unfair to not only us but those sho may also be affected by it. Eventually, we could see other grades not being allowed to use bags. People have very valuable things in their bags that they need close to them. Please consider.

I’m a 7th grader and this is unfair, I’m more likely to drop and crack my iPad and my mom would kill me
