Lady Cougar Basketball parents, fans, community members: Clinton has a PROUD tradition of excellence in girl's basketball. However since the retirement of Coach Gilbertson about a decade ago, we have struggled to maintain our status as conference champions and state title contenders. Years of dedicated service by current coaches, while greatly appreciated, have failed to produce the kind of championship-caliber teams our community has grown to expect. There has been a strong sentiment among many parents and fans that now is the time for change. Anyone who has had the privilege of having their daughter coached by Coach Kevin Kalk knows that he is the right man to give our daughters their best chance at competing for a state title. His basketball IQ, his commitment, devotion to his team, players and the Clinton program is unequalled. He has a unique ability to get the most out of each player and to make a team equal much more than the sum of its individual parts. With the core of excellent players that Coach Kalk has developed in the youth, freshman, and jv programs, its time to give him a chance to lead them as varsity players!
