President Suresh V. Garimella’s five year contract is up this summer. He is currently being reviewed by the UVM board of trustees to be reinstated for another five years. This new contract would come with a 6 figure raise.
Through staff and student-led protests, it is clear that the university is unhappy with his presidency. Through issues raised by staff and students regarding sexual harassment on campus, unlivable wages, and general inaction from the administration, the consensus is that President Garimella is not wanted for another five years.

UVM’s president should serve and listen to the student body, and Suresh has failed to time and time again. Living conditions on campus are abysmal, staff are continually mistreated and exploited, and the administration refuses to take action on anything.
