This petition was created in regards to the failure of Marquise Goodwin to step down from his position of Head Coach of Women’s Rugby for the University of California at Santa Barbara.
The team has elected Sara Cratsenburg and Jenifer Ortega as Vice President and President respectively, and trust that they will make decisions that will reflect the wishes of the majority. Also to make decisions that will benefit the team. The administration has decided to not renew Marquises contract, due to the reasons listed below.

Complaints from other teams
including their players and coaches
Complaints from USA Rugby licensed referees
Failure to appear important team events events
Verbal acknowledgement that he no longer wishes to continue at his position
Failure to respond to inquisition of whether or not he would return to his position
Lack of communication as a whole
Disrespectful attitude towards opposing team players
While we do not deny the success we have had this year is partly attributed to Marquise and his coaching skill, we also acknowledge that he is not the best fit for our team due to the reasons listed above. We also believe that our success can be replicated thanks to the hard work and dedication of the young women who make up this program.
The electronic signatures included belong to members of the team who support the administration's decision to no longer rehire Marquise.

The administration has confirmed receipt of the full petition document earlier this morning. We are moving forward with a formal meeting request to discuss the transition plan for the upcoming season.

The girls have worked way to hard to deal with this drama. Hope this helps get him out for good.
Finally. It was so uncomfortable playing against other teams when he was acting like that. We deserve better leadership.
