Make Ariel David a coach
Dear Phil Hampel and the USANKF Board of Trustees,
I am respectfully seeking a position on the USANKF coaching staff. In part, I do so in response to requests from multiple current and former USA karate athletes, this petition seeks an official USA karate coaching position for me, Ariel David. It is my hope that the signatures on this petition provide evidence for the strong coaching bonds I have forged with USA team athletes and for the support of other USA karate members who recognize my dedication to USA Karate.
As is well known, I coached a number of USA athletes in major international events over the past four years. In preparation for and throughout these competitions, I established a great rapport with the USA team athletes.
I have proven an asset to the international success of our athletes. For example, during the finals of the 2016 Paris Open, every point awarded to team USA came via the coach challenges that I made on behalf of our athletes.
In the run-up to events, I research our opponents and, relying on my decades of experience participating in, observing, and coaching international karate events, I provide the USA team athletes with my knowledge regarding the strengths and weaknesses of their opponents. This information is crucial to preparing the most effective strategy for each match. I’m also well known for retaining my composure in the coach’s chair and for making strategic and effective use of the challenge card.
Additionally, I recognize that fostering team spirit and unity is crucial. To that end, I arrange team training sessions at local dojos for international events. By building on the many relationships I’ve created around world, I can select from dojos local to the city of competition to ensure that team USA has the opportunity to prepare in high quality facilities as they shake-off their jet lag.
During the past several years, whenever athletes requested my coaching, I self-funded dozens of trips overseas to coach them. I cannot, unfortunately, attend all the events where I am requested. Yet it is important that the athletes get the coaching they need to be successful at international competitions. Thus, the signatures on this petition are a testament to their need and my ability to satisfy it in an official coaching role.
I am passionate about the USA Karate program and its success at every level. My singular goal is to foster the overall success of the team.
I thank you for your consideration of this petition and all those who are calling for my official status as a team USA coach.
“In signing this petition, we are asking that Ariel David be given the opportunity to be more involved in USA Karate coaching. His passion for the sport and the athletes is obvious. He has everyone's best interest at heart and would be a great asset to the team.”
If you agree with this statement we ask that you sign it and leave a comment if you wish. Something describing your experience with Ariel either as a coach, or observing him as a coach or just simply interacting with him in or out of competition.
