I am writing to you as a concerned student from the DSC50 batch of Upgrad, and I am representing the collective voice of my fellow students in this petition. We would like to express our deep concerns and disappointment regarding the current status of placement assistance promised to us by Upgrad at the time of enrollment. When we decided to join the DSC50 batch at Upgrad, it was primarily based on the assurance given to us by our education counselor that the placement assistance process would commence after the completion of our first exam and that interviews with prospective companies would be facilitated before our final exams. This promise was a crucial factor in our decision-making process, as it provided us with a sense of security and motivation to excel in our studies. However, we were disheartened to learn recently that Upgrad has now altered its stance, indicating that the placement assistance process will not begin until we receive our results from IIIT Bangalore. Furthermore, it has come to our attention that previous batches in 2022 experienced a significant delay in receiving placement assistance, which contradicts the assurances provided to us during our enrollment. We understand that in 2021, for the same course, Upgrad promptly fulfilled its commitment to provide placement assistance as promised by its counselors. We believe that Upgrad has a moral and contractual obligation to honor the commitments made to its students, and we kindly request that you address the following concerns and take immediate action: Commencement of Placement Assistance: We request that Upgrad promptly starts the placement assistance process for the DSC50 batch, in accordance with the original commitments made to us by Upgrad's education counselor at the time of enrollment. Transparency and Timeliness: We request that Upgrad maintains transparency throughout the placement assistance process and ensures that it is completed in a timely manner, aligning with our academic progress and examination schedules. Consistency with Past Practices: We urge Upgrad to return to the practice of providing placement assistance promptly after the first exam, as demonstrated in the 2021 batch, to ensure consistency and fairness for all students. We, the students of the DSC50 batch, are eager to succeed in our careers, and timely placement assistance is vital to our professional aspirations. We trust that Upgrad, as a reputable institution committed to the success of its students, will take our concerns seriously and work towards a swift resolution that aligns with the commitments initially made to us. We kindly request a meeting with you or a representative of Upgrad to discuss these concerns further and seek clarification on the timeline and process for placement assistance.
