Dear Upper Captiva Fire Commissioners:
As registered voters of the Upper Captiva Fire and Rescue District we are urging you to proceed with the establishment of a non ad valorem tax to fund the long-term maintenance of our roads. This process is necessary to insure an uninterrupted source of funding. The referendum should be narrowly worded and specific to insure the funds generated can and will only be used for road maintenance and if necessary pay for the cost of the referendum.
Until this plan is in place, we urge you to move forward as soon as possible to stabilize and repair the most severely damaged roadways by using general revenue funding.

The level of engagement this petition has received demonstrates how vital these infrastructure improvements are to our community. This collective agreement on the necessity of road maintenance provides a clear mandate for the district to act.

A reasonable solution to an age old problem. And it is fair, making all property owners contribute.
From a safety perspective the road conditions are such that they surely slow down the emergency response time that is absolutely critical, especially in this remote location.
I am 100% for this direction to have the fire dept. responsible for the roads
As a full time resident I feel this islandis still entitled to protection and maintenance, we pay the same taxes

I have watched the big machines from the builder who was working on theAquent house at the end of kingfisher tear up kingfisher for the last five years. Maybe it time for the builder to kick in something
