Lighting units have been installed in properties at Conningbrook Lakes that do not comply with manufacturer specification. They are not to be covered with insulation and must have a 50mm space from any joists, but in our homes they are sat beneath 300mm of insulation, and set 30mm from a joist. Chartway, Latimer and E. W. Gee say that as long as LED bulbs are used then it’s fine. The manufacturer has said (in writing) that this is not the case.
In any event, how would someone know in future that they cannot use anything other than an LED bulb, and so inadvertently start a fire? This petition is to demand that the lights are all changed, and also that the developer carry out surveys to ensure no other potential safety issues have been overlooked during construction of these houses.
The quality of the build here is abysmal, and apparently even something that has the potential to be a safety issue isn’t getting our voices heard. Enough is enough!

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many of you have stepped forward to back this. It is clear this issue resonates far beyond my own home and I am just humbled to see so many people demanding we be kept safe. This energy belongs entirely to you.

I live at 82 Conningbrook Avenue. I am shocked to hear that our lights could be a fire hazzard. I am very concerned about the quality of the house build in general too and the many other problems.
On behalf of my household and friends of Connigsbrook lake something needs to be done !
