The school board reversed the mask policy and our children will attend classes without them. It has been a long and draining struggle but I am grateful we held our ground together. We must remain vigilant to ensure this change remains permanent.

This is a petition to the Alexander School District School Board that we demand our students to have the right to choose to not wear a mask this upcoming school year. We feel that this policy will cause more harm to our children's development both academically and socially. It is time to move forward and let our children's voices be heard and remove the mask policy from this upcoming school year at Alexander School District in Albany, Ohio.

Reaching 250 signatures is a heavy milestone because it proves that so many of you feel the same fatigue that I do. This road is long and the silence from the school board is exhausting but I am not walking away from this fight yet.

The momentum behind this effort has grown into something I honestly did not expect. It has been a long road and the fatigue is setting in but seeing this level of backing proves that we are not alone in this fight.

The exhaustion is setting in but we are nearing the one hundred mark. Please take a moment to send this link to someone who believes in this cause before we lose momentum.

Our children will not be attending the 21/22 school year at Alexander middle school if the mask mandate remains in place.

Our students need to go back to school 5 days a week and should have the choice to not wear a mask. Business have been open without mask wearing. Our children are around each other all summer long without mask. Just go back to normal to benefit our kids.

My son is autistic and can’t have a mask, stop punishing our children over a virus with over a 99% survival rate, these are children not science experiments.

Governor DeWine has lifted the mask mandate as of June 2nd, almost half of the nation is completely vaccinated and people agree that we should still wash our hands and keep good hygiene like we were taught in grade school. If you remember we were told if we would just wait til there is a vaccine and it gets distributed we can then remove the masks. It should be up to the individual and their family to what they feel is best for the student. Keep pushing the issue and you may find yourself losing lots of students to other districts that have confidence that the janitorial staff and others can handle taking extra precautions when necessary. No students, No staff, No money. Let's be adults and live normal lives, and quit living in fear. Let us have our country and freedoms back.

It is time for everyone to move forward. Let's keep 'masks' as a personal choice option, and not a mandate.
