I (We) the undersigned protest the unjustified termination of William Gorry. I (we) request that you reconsider your decision and reinstate him to his former position.
Although I don't know the details of what happened, I do know that William is hard working and gives 115% at all times. He's friendly to a fault, always there to lend a hand, and will do whatever he can for a guest or a fellow co-worker.
We all have bad days whether it be a Server or a Manager and considerations need to be made before a snap decision is made that affects someone's lively hood. William is a 4 star Server Trainer and I'm sure it took a very stressful situation to cause him to break character. I was there early yesterday morning, and I saw that it was already stressful I can just imagine how that stress level rose as the day continued. I think he should get a much deserved do over.

Anyone that has had the opportunity to spend time working with, hanging out with, or just talking to Will knows what a helpful, positive, and kind person he is. Anytime anyone needs help, he's the first person to run right over, with a smile on his face and a positive, upbeat attitude. Guests absolutely love him, he always comes in with a smile on his face and he's ready to work.
Apparently at Cracker Barrel, you aren't allowed to have an off day. Yes, Will had an off day. Furthermore, I can tell you two episodes that I've witnessed first-hand regarding the manager that Will was having an issue with that he should have been fired on the spot for.
Let's all do what we can to help out our fellow employee, our friend...

Will is the best server they have. I ate there last week and he was so helpful. This is totally unfair for him to be let go over one bad day. Give him his job back.

I have been with Cracker Barrel for 8 years, and my main job has been server assistant. It's not an easy job and at times can be quite hectic. One person who made my job easier was Paul. He ALWAYS helped out in the window when he wasn't busy taking care of his guests. Paul would always ask me if I needed anything, he would run trays, and has even taken over for me on several occasions so I could have a little break. He would not hesitate at all when I asked him to step in the window for a few minutes. Paul always came to work with a smile and a positive attitude. He was always full of energy and ready to work. He was a pleasure to work with! Our store made a HUGE mistake by letting him go, and he should definitely be taken back! Furthermore, I would like to add that the manager Paul was having an issue with does not treat people well! I know this from personal experience and from things I've witnessed and heard over the years.

I think that 4 weeks no pay for Will is more than enough punishment! Will is one of the nicest people I've had the pleasure of working with he's always trying to get everyone to work together! What I don't understand how the managers here are able to bring there problems tho work and take it out on us and it's ok with no penalty on them, but when Will walks away from a bad situation instead of making it worse by speaking his mind,on more than one occasion I've witnessed a manager get in Wills face for no other reason then to see how he would react because the situation want get in your face kinda bad, but he seemed to keep his calm! I know that I would lose it if a manager got in my face and disrespected me in front of other people. I don't understand why he was punished so severely when they are unprofessional at work.I think We should look at the bigger picture and he should be treated fairly and given his job back.....

I have known Paul (Will, or fondly nicknamed WillPaul by the staff at work) for a few years now when I first worked with him at the East Windsor, CT Cracker Barrel in 2010. The first words that immediately come to mind to describe Paul are outgoing, friendly, personable, humble, generous, kind and dedicated. Dedicated to his family, friends and personal relationships with people, dedicated to his employer and this company as well as the guests that come back in to Cracker Barrel just to see him and his always smiling face, charm and humor.
On that note, as a server myself at Holyoke I have had more than a few of Paul's regulars ask to talk to me and express how extremely upset, unhappy and disappointed they are and don't understand why Paul has no longer been here. Some going as far to say that they won't come back because they come in specifically to see him because he provides outstanding guest service and hospitality which is what Cracker Barrel stands for- pleasing people. He has established personal relationships with his guests over the years- (even doing landscaping work and snow removal, working on old cars in his spare time for/with them outside of work) and he is a friendly face they come in to see, to talk and visit with him and for a few laughs during their meal. I know of some regulars Paul had in East Windsor that followed him (going about a half hour or so out of their way) to come up to Holyoke to dine with Paul in his section.
Paul is a "frequent flyer" in the "mile high club" which in joking server terms is one of the top servers for restaurant sales. I have witnessed the good natured competition between servers Paul included, over who will have the most in restaurant sales for the day as well as seen Paul be disappointed in himself if he didn't reach his goal for sales FOR THE COMPANY that day. Paul goes above and beyond the call of just being a server at a restaurant and bringing people their food, and if you knew Paul like we know him, y
