United Fiber is needing letters of support (or signatures of support on this petition) for a grant to get fiber in our area! Skidmore City Hall needs letters of support (or signatures of support on this petition) BEFORE September 12th from any individuals and any business owners who work from home. Please contact Meagan Morrow directly or stop by Skidmore City Hall by Friday for more information!!
The feedback from local business owners regarding the current internet limitations highlights why this infrastructure improvement is essential. I am currently organizing these testimonials to ensure our collective request reaches the appropriate officials at City Hall.

The response from our community regarding the fiber grant has been remarkable. This momentum demonstrates how vital reliable internet access is for our residents and local business owners.

We need faster, more reliable internet here in Skidmore!!! Families and businesses alike require more than the DSL that ABB (now Fastwyre) can provide. This is 2022, and for DSL or unreliable satellite internet to be our only options is absurd! The amount that ABB charges for DSL is 1.5 times higher than cable internet in capital cities at a fraction of the speed for crying out loud!

Our internet is slow and expensive. We use it on the farm and I sell baked goods from home.
