This petition is to show our school board members and administration that we would like Rich Mendes immediately removed as the Pe Ell Boys Head Basketball Coach!
Here are a few reasons why he needs to be removed:
- Lack of respect for players, parents, and community
- Continuous Inappropriate Conduct
- Behavior that has tarnished the program
- Anger issues towards referees and opposing coaches
It is embarrassing to watch him coach and behave in the manner he does. Is this someone we want teaching our young men and youth? For the safety of our kids and the reputation of our program, sign this petition if you believe he should no longer be able to coach.

The steady growth in this petition reflects a shared concern for the well-being of our athletes and the integrity of our school programs. It is clear that many people feel the current leadership style does not align with the expectations we hold for those who guide our young men.

My son wont even play next year if he is still the coach. The way he yells at the kids in front of everyone is just wrong. Needs to go.
It's sad that this year's seniors have not enjoyed the sport... it's pretty embarrassing when the ref is telling our coach to shut up and the visiting team fans are clapping. He obviously has a history of anger issues and bad behavior...why was this not researched BEFORE he was given the position?

THATS RIGHT. enough is enough. he makes our school look like a joke and the boys deserve better than this constant drama.
