We, the undersigned, believe that the Isle of Man Government, and in particular the Department of Tourism & Leisure, fundamentally failed with regard to the organisation of the TT Festival 2009.
We believe that the lack of street entertainment, big screen race TVs, fun fair and various other activities destroyed the festival atmosphere of TT 2009. Whilst the races continued to be exhilarating and enjoyable the overall festival was sorely lacking. Furthermore the attempts to force the Villa Marina upon the public as the only significant entertainment centre during the TT period has been a disaster.
We believe that these missteps in the entertainment during the festival have had a significant negative impact on the perception of the festival amongst locals and visitors, and have reduced the economic benefits of the festival to local businesses.
We demand that the government make a public commitment to return the TT to it's former glory in 2010. This should include:
1.)Returning the street entertainment to Douglas, including but not limited to stunt bikes and the large screen race TV
2.)Reviewing the return of the fun fair, including a review of a suitable location taking into account any local concerns
3.)Cease the attempts to force the Villa Marina on the Manx public as the only venue significant venue for entertainment on the island
4.)Actively promote and advertise the return of the â
The scale of this response confirms my view that the current entertainment strategy is unsustainable. I am preparing a formal request for a meeting with the Department of Tourism and Leisure to present these findings and demand a change in direction for next year.

TOTAL SHAMBLES. The TT without the festival feel is just a bunch of bikes on a road. Give us back the real event.

The atmosphere in 09 was dead. Never seen it so quiet in town. Bring back the flair and the screens!

Need the big screens back for the race coverage. Trying to watch it on a tiny phone is rubbish.

Stops funnelling everyone to the Villa. It is not the only place on the island and the pubs are suffering. Sort it out.
