We the undersigned, petition the company, 'Whitby Festival Traders' to restore the booking of the Leisure Centre during the April 2010 Whitby Gothic Weekend (specifically the 23rd, 24th and 25th April) into the rightful hands of Top Mum Promotions. We appreciate that Whitby Festival Traders are not an active part of the gothic community, and as such they may not fully understand the damage their actions have caused. Without the financial support the Leisure Centre income provides to the Spa event the whole festival has been brought into jeopardy, as Top Mum Promotions may be forced to run the Goth Weekend at another time causing a split in the festival. At the Whitby Festival Traders stalls weekend there will be a substantial drop in the usual number of visitors, the trader's sales will therefore suffer, and there will be no main Spa event for the few visitors that are there to attend. At the official Goth Weekend there will be far fewer traders for people to visit, and as the Leisure Centre market quickly became popular when Top Mum Promotions first unveiled it in October 2005, this will no doubt have a negative effect on the official festival. It is therefore for these reasons that we feel we must ask Whitby Festival Traders to restore the Leisure Centre booking to Top Mum Promotions in order to ensure the future of this much loved event and vital twice yearly boost to Whitby's economy. *** EDIT - Thank you for your support so far, but further to some of the comments left here can we please make it clear that we do not advocate the boycotting of stalls at Whitby Leisure Centre or at any other venue, and we would ask anyone signing here not to do this either. The only effect a boycott will have is that the individual traders in the venues will experience a loss of sales and they are as much the victims in this as Top Mum Promotions are.

WGW just isnt the same without the leisure centre market. stop messing with a good thing and let the people who actually know the scene handle the bookings.
