There is a fake women’s health center near the St. Cloud State University campus named the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC). The organization poses as an unbiased medical clinic; however they are religiously affiliated and have an anti-choice agenda. Since their advertising is deceptive and does not disclose their real mission, our students end up going to the Pregnancy Resource Center believing they will receive truthful, unbiased services. Unfortunately, that is not the case. Students report shaming tactics towards their personal choices, and that the PRC staff take extreme measures to push their religious agenda on anyone who walks through their door. They target young and poor people – with a specific focus on college-aged women at St. Cloud State- by offering the promise of free STD and pregnancy tests. Although these centers claim to be medical facilities, most do not have trained/licensed medical professionals on staff.

A woman facing an unintended pregnancy deserves medically accurate, comprehensive, and unbiased information.

By signing this petition, it demands that our campus, St. Cloud State University, require the Pregnancy Resource Center to disclose their religiously affiliated, anti-choice mission in their advertising on our campus. We also demand that any advertising by the Pregnancy Resource Center on the campus of St. Cloud State University includes the following statement, “This facility does NOT provide abortion, birth control, or comprehensive information regarding sexual and reproductive health.”
