We, the students of Cranston High School West ask the administration to seriously consider a change to the current traffic pattern. Far too often have we left our houses on time, yet arrive late to class due to the traffic that we face in the morning.

I spent the morning sitting in the parking lot trying to map out exactly where the bottleneck starts and honestly it is even worse than I thought. People keep sending me messages about near misses and the stress of the morning rush and it keeps me up at night thinking about what could happen if we do not get the administration to fix this layout.

An assistant principal has been hit and the kids are late for school every day. SOMEBODY needs to look into this. If it ain't working, then fix it
Every day ... Students now must cross in front of cars as students are dropped off on the wrong side! Students are exiting cars in line due to outrageous traffic backups!! Less actual drop off slots! Please change back!!!
i have left my house at 7:10 and it usually takes me 5 mins to get to school but instead i got caught in the traffic pattern and been late a few times. it takes me about 10 monitors to get from the top of the hill to the front of the school in the traffic pattern.
The traffic pattern in the front of the school is outrageous. The administration has us follow very reasonable guidelines, but they do not enforce the parents to do the same. All incidents that occur before and after school on the parking strip that I have witnessed have been initiated by a parent not obeying traffic patterns, no parking zones, and walking lanes.
Every route to Cranston West is bumper to bumper traffic every morning and unless the state administration either creates a new traffic pattern or works to make school start later, many will continue to be tardy. This is a serious problem that I hope can be resolved asap.
West is a poorly ran school, leading school is false
Even when I leave my house with what should be plenty of time to get to school, I am nearly late or late. The one way roads on both sides of the strip back traffic up all the way up metropolitan and to Atwood ave and the other way to the bridge above the highways. The fact that parents are waiting with their children in parking spots in the student lot makes it harder for students to find parking spots on top of there not being enough spots due to the inadequate snow removal. Some parents do not follow the rules of the traffic pattern and I have been almost hit multiple times both before and after school due to parents not following rules and also due to the poor planning of this traffic pattern. This pattern makes many students late and due to this, the line to get a tardy slip is so long that instead of only missing a few minutes of class we end up missing up to 20 or even 30 minutes just because we were trying to park.

Parents continue to pick up their children by going through the lower student parking lot, which causes traffic backups and is potentially dangerous to student drivers and pedestrians.
