PSA ‼️‼️CALLING OUT ALL DISD STUDENTS . My name is Nathaniel Barrett Jr. and I am a sophomore who attends school at the Judge Barefoot Sanders Law Magnet at Townview in the DISD . My friends know me as " Nate " and some of you who have heard about my movement to improve better quality and quantity of lunches for my school might know me as " Nate From Law " . On Monday , March 21st 2016 I walked through the lunch line and received a clear and green plastic box (that contained 8 crackers , 2 peanut-butter cups, a fruit cup, prunes,a pack of peanuts and a carton of milk ) that was sealed with tape that read "super snack" ... So I started a petition for students who also felt my grievances on poor lunch quality ,quantity and lack of nutritional value to sustain us throughout the day for class . Well I've received many DMs , texts , and comments from inspired students from other DISD schools that have brought to my attention that lunch problems including : preparation , food / drink choices , nutritional value, etc. goes on not only at my school but almost every school in DISD. So all students of DISD help me spread the word and more importantly, the movement and student awareness . Post pictures and tell your friends and teachers about the REAL FOOD MOVEMENT . Include the tags on social media : #natefromlaw #realfood #unacceptable #rfmovement #tradethetray . Stay tuned for the online petition regarding the movement. We need as many signatures as possible . Help my team and I help you when we go to the executive board to make changes in our district. Thank you

The stories pouring into my inbox from students across the district prove that this isn't just about my own lunch tray. We deserve to actually feel fueled for our classes instead of settling for these sealed plastic boxes. I am currently reaching out to school officials to ensure they see the reality of what we are being served each day.

Seeing the numbers climb reminds me of how many of us are sitting through our classes hungry because the lunch provided is just not enough. We are nearing five hundred signatures and I need everyone to post their lunch photos today so the district cannot look away from the reality of these trays.

DISD food has been serving low nutrition, low quality food for as long as I can remember. It is even the same quality as the food in our jail systems here in Texas, and it is pathetic. If our students are going to learn and grow they need to be able to fuel their bodies properly. This is a joke
I am a student who attends David W Carter. At my school they always seem to run out of lunch, majority of the time it does not taste good, and we get small portion that does not end our hunger. I hope this petition helps my school as well as many others across disd
Dallas needs to step up their game ! My friend drank expired milk, over 1 month old last year and he got really sick and needed to go to the hospital . I don't eat lunch at school in general because I feel like the food is not nutritional
My id number is 2142102 and i attend health professions at the townview magnet center. I can confirm that Nate is correct in what needs to be changed. Many students would rather starve than eat what is given.
We need real food! I bring my lunch eveyday because the food is simply too nasty and processed for me to eat. It's basically plastic frozen food that has been pre or even undercooked. We want real food!
I think this is a great idea. At my school we have the same lunch. I think we should change the way people at school make lunches.

It is a slap in the face to attend one of the top scools in the nation, yet we have to eat garbage. They changed our lunches to be healthier but what makes it healthy? The amount they give us or how much we dont eat...
