The Town of Babylon has plans for 400 Oak Street Copiague which includes a 3 story mixed building on the southeast corner of Oak Street and Lafayette St. The Town of Babylon was to send out notices of the public hearing to people who reside 200 feet from the location. Alot of the residents who rent where not informed and since the area has over 400 units that do rent, WE were never given the opportunity to be present at the hearing. We the People demand another Public hearing on the 16th of September 7 pm!!

I have been reviewing the feedback from many of you regarding the lack of direct notification about the project at 400 Oak Street. Our collective inquiry into the hearing process is currently being directed toward the appropriate town planning officials. I will provide further information as soon as I receive a formal response regarding the status of a potential follow-up hearing.

The level of engagement this petition has received demonstrates that our community is fully committed to transparency regarding the Oak Street development. This momentum confirms that residents expect adequate notice and a fair opportunity to participate in the local planning process.

We dont need anymore apartments! Our schools are overcrowded already! We have so much traffic congestion on great neck road as it is. There is already no parking on Lafayette and oak street is a mess. What we need is for oak st and its business to be held accountable for the presentations of their properties. All the businesses except 7-11 are a eyesore!
Parking is already hard enough in front of your own home. Can’t even imagine what kind of housing this would be.
Please stop this insanity. You are ruining our town

Way too congested on Oak Street in Copiague as it is!!! I’m confused that this was even considered!!! No way!!
Build something that will add value and benefit to the community.
We the People have a say as to how our town representatives do with our town!! Time to Stand up and demand that our elected officials stop making backroom deals without having public hearing that includes all of us!!!

The traffic at Lafayette and Oak st is already a nightmare. I live on Lafayette and often have to go another way just to drive safely down my block
