The address of proposed site is 163 East Deer Park Road, Dix Hills NY 11746. The daycare has applied for a license for 104 students, 20 employees and 40 parking spots.
The proposed business will increase traffic exponentially due to parents entering and exiting the building for drop off and pick-ups. In addition we can expect trucks and school bus traffic on a daily basis. Trucks for deliveries, buses for pick ups/drop offs/ and trips will be part of a regular day. This does not take in to consideration all the construction vehicles and noise that will be involved in the construction of the site. Also, a loud playground for the business will be in our back yard.
Allowing a commercial building in our residential neighborhood will decrease overall property prices and take away the quiet and residential feel of our neighborhood. Proposed Daycare/Nursery will effect traffic for all neighboring streets including but not limited to Fathers Court, Arista Dr, Woodfern Crt, Majestic Dr, Jester Court, Brothers Court, Brycewood Dr, Glen Hill Court, Gables Court, Royal Ln, Princeton Dr. and any other neighborhoods that utilize the Northern State and Deer Park Ave for commuting.
We encourage all of you as concerned neighbors to sign this petition and let your voices be heard at the meeting at Town Hall,100 Main Street, Huntington, NY on THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 18, 2014 at 6:00 PM.

The town has not acknowledged our concerns yet but we have the meeting coming up to force a conversation. Email your local representatives today and tell them this commercial project does not belong in our neighborhood. Post the petition link on your neighborhood Facebook page to ensure everyone on the surrounding streets knows what is happening.

The momentum we have built shows the town officials that our neighborhood will not accept this commercial intrusion. Call your local representative today to demand they block this permit application. We need a massive turnout at the meeting to ensure they see exactly who this project hurts.

WE BOUGHT A HOUSE HERE FOR THE QUIET. NOBODY WANTS A LOUD PLAYGROUND AND DELIVERY TRUCKS IN THE BACKYARD ALL DAY LONG.
that spot is way too small for that much traffic. it will destroy the safety of our streets for the kids who live here.
The address is wrong on the petition Its 163 East deer park road not 163 deer park ave.I'm the owner of The proposed daycare center on Deer park road. I have children at both Vanderbilt and candlewood. Its not the huge house with the grass its the vacant piece of property 2 doors down from the art league and fire house. The traffic impact on deer park ave will be minimal as parents drop off early in the morning and later in the day and sporadically after that.I have one mini school bus that comes at 9;00 and leaves at 1:30. we don't have large school buses .There will be one class of up to 18 children on the playground at a time .I don't think the noise impact will be anymore then on deer park ave.I have many friends who live on the streets you are naming and would never do anything to harm their houses or property values. You instead could easily have someone come in and build a shopping center on the property with a tatoo parlor in it and it would have much more of an impact on noise and traffic to your neighborhood. traffic on deer park is already a nightmare during rush hour. adding a daycare with 104 kids is just asking for an accident to happen.
