Our twins are going into Reception at Gordonbrock Primary School in September. They want to be in the same class and we think that forced separation will be detrimental Gordonbrock have refused, saying they have a blanket separation policy, despite the Secretary of State for Education now advising all schools to involve parents and Kings research which shows that making the decision against twins’ wishes can affect emotional and educational development. Please sign this petition if you think Gordonbrock should remove its blanket policy and make involve parents in decision-making. See the TAMBA website for more info. https://www.tamba.org.uk/Parenting/Primary/Separat...

I am an identical twin and I think that twins should not be separated in class until they are settled and established in a school. Perhaps after one or two years? They can then develop individually and independently...

I have Identical twins and we chose not to separate them their first year at school. A blanket policy is NOT in the best interest of all sets of twins.

All children should be able to expect that adults will listen to and respect their views. If the children want to be together and the parents agree what more is there to say?

Starting school should be a positive experience. Forced separation will be a traumatic experience for the children and parents.

Parents should have a say. Each situation is different and shouldn't be rigidly covered by a blanket policy.

Parents have a right to have a say in their children's education. I think it's time to remind Gordonbrock that twins are special and that each pair of twins handle separation differently. I believe that forcing separation is counterproductive! Please remember square pegs and rounds holes don't work; neither too do blanket rules for all. Shame on Gordonbrock!!!

Parents know best. In my eyes this is an obvious decision to be made. Together forever
