After years of inaction by the previous Labour administration, Conservative-led Calderdale Council has taken a lead on cleaning up the derelict sites that are currently blighting Todmorden Town Centre. I am working with Councilors to ensure that the Council does everything within its power to hold the owners of these sites to account. The Council has already issued a Section 215 Notice on the sites which is the legal mechanism to force the landowners to clean-up the sites.
I will continue to work with local people and the Council to ensure that these eyesores are cleaned up. Please sign the petition to maintain the campaign on this important issue:
We respectfully request that the Council use its legal power to force the landowners and developers to:
- Demolish the Abraham Ormerod Center and Olympia Cinema
- Level and reconstruct the site to be a temporary public green space

Good luck Craig. It's about time something was sorted with these eyesores. Pity Sainsbury s didn't get the approval, at least one of the sites would have been sorted. So much for the "Marina "
