Hello, I'm Nyashia Cuyler, a senior currently enrolled in Dodge County High School. This petition was created because, my peers including myself have worked hard to accomplish a long term goal of becoming an honor graduate. However, this goal wasn't fulfill due to the current standard of Dodge County High School having a 94 GPA or higher. While surroundings counties GPA standards are Telfair 90, Dublin City 89.5, Bleckley 90, Laurens 90, and Pulaski 90. I'm reaching out to my community for help to make our honor graduate standards within in reach of these counties expectation requirements. Thus, relieving the stress it has put on students to require this 94 GPA. Personally, I have experienced bad anxiety and stress since the 9th grade to reach this goal only to find out that I wasn't on the list due to a 93.4 GPA. I felt that I not only failed myself but I also failed my family only by a couple of points. This affected me long term because I felt like giving up because nothing after that mattered and that it was over; thus, I'm reaching out to you will not only help me and my peers but also help your children that are coming up to be future seniors at Dodge County High School. By signing this petition it will get the Board of Educations attention. We together as a whole can make a great change to our honor graduate rates and change the future for our now and upcoming seniors! (All donations are going to the website. I appreciate ALL signatures and comments!!!!!)

If you would like to contact the school board they can be reached at Dodge County Board of Education 720 College Street Eastman, GA (478) 374-3783 the board will hear my case Thursday, May 13th at 6:00pm

Reaching this level of support feels heavy because it confirms so many of you have felt this same frustration. I am exhausted by the constant pressure on our students but seeing this momentum gives me the grit to keep pushing the school board.

I was really hoping to make honor grad but I only have a 93.6 GPA, and you have to have a 94

I'll be a senior next year and I dont want to spend my whole senior year stressing over getting a 94 GPA. This is way to high for the times we live in now not only for the in person students but the elearners also.

You should be proud of how hard you worked but you are right. Dodge needs to get with the times.

I support the students who work their butt off but just can’t make that 94 GPA. Its unfair and they deserve that stole just as much.

If the surrounding counties can recognize honor graduates with a 90, our county should too.
