We the undersigned believe it is time that access improvements at Hither Green Station are funded as part of the Department for Transport’s Access for All Scheme. Hither Green is a busy station where only two of the six platforms have step-free access. We note the review of all Access for All Schemes being carried out by the current Government and we call upon the Government to set aside funding for Hither Green station in the current control period. Should funding be confirmed, we would urge Network Rail to carry out a full consultation about potential scheme designs with local residents and Lewisham Council.

I almost fell down the stairs at hither green a couple of weeks ago carrying my buggy. Managing all those steps with children and buggies is really quite dangerous. For such a busy station with so many platforms I'm baffled why it rest have better access.
When I had the kids in a buggy I would choose to use Ladywell and take on the additional 15 minute walk rather than try to negotiate the steps at Hither Green. It's ridiculous that it is still going on and my kids are now 9 and 10.
Although 1/3 of platforms have step free access a simple return journey would mean planning to ensure you do not need stairs. This should not be a choice someone has to make. To ensure public transport is open to everyone is a core requirement.
Hello I find this ludicrous that in 2016, on one of the busiest station in south east, a disabled person has to go all the way back to London bridge just so he can get off on platform 4. Hither green station certainly doesn't believe in the values of "enabled"....
My mum who is 84 struggles to walk up the ramp at Hither Green station even with a rest on the half-way bench....then there are the steep and uneven stairs to climb if you don't get off at platforms 5 or 4. Easier access is really necessary.
Definitely needed
Please make all platforms more accessible for pushchairs and wheelchairs and the less able

It is discriminatory that people who can't use steps can't take anywhere bear full advantage of Hither Green Station. It is ridiculous how people have to queue up to trudge across the narrow bridge from platform 6. I find the situation insulting to passengers.
