We formally request a locked entrance and panic button to be installed at the Tiller School.
We are concerned that there are no safeguards in place to keep a person of ill will, with intent to do harm, away from our children during the school day.
We love our school, and would like to see at least a minimum level of safety for our kids and the staff by locking the school entrance during school hours.

I too love the feel of the community atmosphere. All Tiller students feel welcomed and loved. I agree with a panic button, however what good is a locked entrance going to protect our students. All they have to do is walk in through the back lot where all the students are. The only thing that a locked entrance does is make the school feel like they are entering into a big city school. Also, if we are going to spend our students education money on a panic button, should there be a panic button in all the classrooms where the teachers can hit the button when someone comes through the back yard into where the children are?

I love the small community atmosphere at Tiller once you walk through the doors, but I support making it a little harder to walk through those doors if you are not part of the school family!
