Greetings. We the undersigned would like to formally request an earlier date for prom for Tabb High School. In the past several years, Prom has been held the Saturday evening before Graduation and prior to exams. The date has consistenly coincided with State finals in Spring Sports.
We believe an earlier date for Senior Prom would reduce stress on students and families and allow the students to space out and more fully enjoy their Senior Year experience.

I really thought this might just fizzle out but seeing how many people actually care about moving this date is kinda surreal. The momentum is honestly building so fast that I can barely keep up with the notifications pinging on my phone while I am trying to study for bio.

It's also the week before final exams, and an ACT test date (at least this year). Way too much going on.
I was After Prom chair for 4 years and the late prom date did make some things more available..like blow up houses and such. However the conflict with State/Regional competitions and the crunch of final exams puts way too much stress on everyone. Tabb has the latest prom and though it deconflicts dual school prom goers, it needs to be earlier. But, try to coordinate with other YCSD schools.
Let June be the month for finals, senior class day, senior banquets, senior dinners, and schedule the senior prom in earlier May. Leave the weekend before graduation open for other events that seniors and their families can continue to participate in.
Proms back in the day were held in May. I think this is an excellent idea to move it up!
The players that make it to any Spring Sports state competition risk missing out on their proms

Prom is to close to graduation. Please give parents time to plan both instead of cramming 2 major Senior events in just a few short weeks or week! This is especially hard with 2 siblings in the same grade.
