The new prom date is April 9th, a Saturday the month before the typical date--the first Friday of May. Not only is this a problem for all the kids taking the ACT that day but it was unexpectedly moved and now around 10% of the junior class will be in New Orleans on the choir trip, not even getting the option to go. We only get one prom and if many kids can't attend or will be busy the day of, prom should be moved back. Please sign this to show your support for moving prom back to its original date.

There are many students planning on going on the choir trip to New Orleans on the same date as Prom. This is not fair. People can take AP exams and then go to prom. They cannot go to prom if they're flying to New Orleans.
Change the date, unfair to students that are gone and to everyone taking the ACT....
Please let my best friend come to Prom. This will be a night where memories are made that will last forever.
Having the ACT will take up a lot of our day and not give us a lot of time for preparing for prom! Move it back to may!
It would be SOO nice to the choir kids going on the trip! Prom is a once in a lifetime opportunity :)
I didnt just assume that it cant be moved. I KNOW it cant be moved. Kane explained the entire situation to her O.Chem class.
She organizes this, part of it atleast, she said May is booked, April 9th was all that was available, and we got the hall for a very cheap price. It can not be moved, the decision is final.

It would be nice if some of my best friends could go to advance that is a once in a lifetime event where some of the best high school memories are made
