We're looking to make your journey into theLodge.space a little safer and more enjoyable. After a tough winter the park space behind the park is very muddy and unsafe and we've had multiple reports of people slipping
We're proposing a path that will adjoin the existing path in Southwark park and run to the back gate of theLodge.space. This will make access safer and move convenient for people using Southwark park and theLodge.space.
We're more than happy to fund the project ourselves but are looking for the support from Southwark council for permission.
The current muddy patch is an eyesore at the moment and we would love to see a green vibrant park with a neat path running to the back entrance to stop it from becoming affected by footfall.

Two hundred and fifty people have signed this and honestly I keep checking the screen because it feels unreal that so many of you want a proper path through that mud. I was worried it was just me getting annoyed every time I tripped on the grass but clearly we all want the same thing and now getting the council to actually listen feels like something that might really happen.

I just blinked and saw the counter hit one hundred signatures which is honestly a bit wild considering how much mud I had to trudge through this morning. It makes me feel much better about pestering the council when I know so many people are just as tired of losing their shoes in that giant boggy mess.

I honestly cannot believe how many of you have jumped on board with this path idea because I remember standing in that mud last week just wishing for a dry pair of boots and now it feels like things are actually going to change. It is just so wild to see people caring about this little stretch of dirt as much as I do while I sit here drinking coffee and trying to figure out how to even start the conversation with the council.

as a community hub, it is paramount that the safety of residents who access the lodge feel safe - especially considering the access for prams, wheel chairs and children
The park is a community park and so therefore I think that access to a community space on the park is beneficial. I think a narrow path would be discreet, safe but also maximise the protection of the bulbs and grass there. It is a sensible idea.
It needs to be done, as it would make my life so much easier. I go to the lodge every day and i really cant live without it...but i must say that the other day, i nearly sprained my ankle. Change does need to happen.
A very Worthwhile endeavour, the cafe attracts people from across the borough; proper access akin to that of the Art gallery and other cafes would make good sense and preserve the grass and flower areas nearby during winter.
This is an absolute no brainer! Improves access for users of theLodge.space, whilst reducing maintenance and costs for Southwark Council. It would be really nice to have a permeable path (not tarmac!) meandering through the trees, perhaps with additional bicycle storage facilities.
The Lodge brings the community together so a nicer green patch with a path would be great.
Great idea!

Supporting as a very local resident, living on Gomm Road. This would be a very welcome addition, enabling access to the Lodge via the park, avoiding transit on the busy / noisy Lower Road.
