We the undersigned are contacting you to register our displeasure with the new Rialto marquee(those appointed officials in charge of handling the matter, etc;) and are formally requesting an audit by the Illinois Auditor General about the Will County Metropolitan Exposition and Auditorium Authority Board.

We are asking that Auditor General Bill Holland audit the WCMEAA,

2)Make recommendations that new board members be appointed to replace those whose terms are expired(5 of 7 expired) and,

Withhold any further state funding until the audit is done and new board members are appointed.

The current level of public interest has reached a threshold that allows me to finalize the formal request for an audit by the Illinois Auditor General. My next step involves submitting our documented concerns to his office to trigger a review of the board appointments and state funding allocations.

Although i do not live in Illinois anymore, i was born and raised in Joliet, and the Rialto Theater was a huge part of my life growing up. If you wanna restore the Marquee to it's original look it's fine, but do not insult our home town with wanting to modernize it. Thank You.

The way this deal came together SMACKS of a SMOKE FILLED BACKROOM POLITICS. This is Joliet, the 4th largest City in Illinois, and the RIALTO is deemed one of the Ten MOST BEAUTIFUL THEATERS in this UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

I thank the generous donor, but feel the sign as a memorial is not appropriate. Maybe a plaque inside the lobby noting the donation.

The Rialto is a beautiful and classy building, putting that ugly sign on the front of it is like putting a neon mustache on the Mona Lisa.

The public deserves more transparency in regards to the Rialto Board's dealings, and their opinions regarding the proposed new marquee should be taken into consideration.

Please reconsider the new marquee. It needs to duplicate the current one in design & omit the memorial. A marquee is no place for a memorial as this is a theater not a funeral home. A memorial can be placed on a plaque & placed inside with the rest of the Rialto donors. We are greatful for the donation but not such strings being attached.
