This is a petition to make dress code less misogynistic and more fair to both boys and girls. The dress code also implicates that boys are distracted by a girl’s body, when they should be taught that people should be able to dress to express themselves without fearing for their safety and health. These rules are unfair and should be changed to be less sexist.
Seeing the count climb this high feels heavy because it proves how many of us have been forced to carry this frustration in silence. I am exhausted by the constant pushback from the administration but seeing this support reminds me that we are right to challenge these outdated rules.

I think that the dress code should be more lenient because the dress code is mostly for girls

A lot of the time counselors and principals get onto the WRONG PEOPLE for dress code which just makes the entire concept of it even more counterintuitive. At this point tank tops are getting so high and passed off that girls ightas we’ll just wear a bra to school. Not having shirts that drape lower than your armpits is stupid for even being implied. Dress code is absolutely ridiculous and it might as well just not be a thing
