FGCU Student Government is proposing an initiative that will bring free textbooks to YOU!
You're already paying tuition, so why not use some of that money to cover your books? To accomplish this, Student Government wants to purchase textbooks that are needed by students- particularly ones that don't change editions. These books would be stored in the reference section of the library so that they would be there whenever you need them.
This can only be accomplished if a bill passes through senate so we need to hear from YOU!

I have been reading through the comments and seeing how many of you are struggling to balance the cost of these books with basic living expenses. Your stories confirm exactly why we need the senate to act on this library reference plan. I am currently preparing to bring these experiences directly to the representatives so they understand the real impact on our campus.

Seeing this level of support reminds me of my own late nights spent deciding between buying groceries or the books I needed for class. It is clear that I am not the only one tired of this financial burden and this momentum proves we are ready for a real change on campus.

Please include the bio 101 lab manual. It is way too expensive and we barely even open it.
Good luck to everyone working on this bill. Tuition is already high enough as it is.
Add the intro to psych textbook please!! The editions never change anyway.
FINALLY. paying $200 for a book i use twice a semester is a total scam.

We need this bad. My calc book was basically a house payment.
