Brothers Apsey and Mogus,

We, the undersigned, are fed up with the constant bullying, harassment and blatant disregard for our collective agreement, essentially, the toxic environment in which we work. We are equally tired of waiting for an appropriate response from our Union. We watched our hopes rise when it was announced we had filed with the courts the CROA case addressing our 10 hour on duty violations only to again be left wanting. Lately, the practice of firing brothers and sisters, seemingly indiscriminately, is more than we can take.

The Safety Management Systems mandate to proficiency test is now weaponized. Management is causing our attention to be diverted involving tasks that if not performed well could cost us a limb.

Our collective frustration has culminated with the firing of Brother Jerry Bianchet, inter alia. The cost to him and his family waiting for the usual process to unfold is now more than we/he can take.

We are a proud, hardworking and resilient membership whose importance is easily understood when our government meets to legislate us back to work time and time again. We would like representatives that are our equals and should you disagree, should this petition not move you to action, well then it seems you are in the wrong line of work.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”

― Martin Luther King Jr., Letter from the Birmingham Jail

We anxiously await a meaningful, actionable response,
