One of the things I admired most about Bexley schools is that my son was fortunate enough to spend his 6th grade year in his elementary school. Let's not rush these kids off to middle school! Let them have that year to grow and build confidence as individuals.
My boys have grown up in the Bexley School system. We loved the fact that Bexley schools continued to view sixth grade as one that should still be at an elementary level. The kids are able grow and mature and be better prepared for the remainder of their education and their growing up!
Everything in our society today pushes our children to grow up faster. Why? Does it benefit the child? Our sixth graders are wonderful for our elementary schools and that environment is wonderful for them. Margie Harris, Retired Montrose Teacher
As a current BCS parent to a 7th grader, I'm so pleased to have had the 6th grade year in elementary. As 7th grade is awkward and challenging enough, he made a great transition with the confidence that comes from maturity.
I don't necessarily oppose the idea of a grade reconfiguration, but I fully support a committee of stakeholders would be a good first step to what has otherwise been poorly executed and inconsistent planning from the administration.
We moved here because of the school structure of K-6. I work at Montrose and have not met one sixth grade child who wishes they were at the middle school! That should speak volumes.
My daughter has also told me that she wants to stay at Maryland for 6th grade.

I am concerned about the school day schedule and added stress on my child. (Socially and emotional) I am comfortable with K-6 .Also I am Very concerned the school board will Not listen to the parents concerns and objections to the proposal
