We want amnesty granted to Tara Ammons Cohen, a legal adoptee and American in every way but for a technicality not of her own doing. To deport her would be not only a terrible injustice to her and her family, it would be a slap in the face to all adoptees and adoptive parents in America. The laws of adoption state the child will be legally “as if born to” the parents. If Tara Ammons Cohen had been born to her adoptive parents she would not be facing deportation now. To treat her differently based on her birth—something completely beyond her control—is wrong. You yourself stated the drug charges are weak. Mrs Cohen has had numerous letters written on her behalf. Her family wants her home. We add to those voices. You can undo a terrible injustice done not only to Mrs Cohen but also her mother, husband and children. Restore Tara Ammons Cohen to her family and clear the way for her to gain legal citizenship.

The law is supposed to be about justice. Deporting her is the opposite of justice. Tara belongs here with her husband and children.
LET HER STAY! She is an American in every way that counts. Dont break up this family over paperwork.
My heart breaks for her kids. Imagine being ripped away from your mother because of a loophole. Fix this now.
This is just wrong. She has been here her whole life. Keep families together.
She was adopted fair and square. The system failed her and needs to take responsibility for it. Bring her home.
