- We believe that while traditional mainstream school works well for the majority of young people there is a substantial minority who don't cope well and don't benefit from it.
- We believe that small is beautiful so we limit intake and enjoy a family atmosphere where young people can thrive.
- We believe that the first three years are vital to ensure confidence, sociability and community so our work is project based in family groups. Good standards in literacy, numeracy and communication skills are our primary focus.
- We believe that teamwork is the norm in the workplace so our tutors team teach to set a good example and show how important it is to our young people to learn to respect and work with and for each other.
- We believe that in years 9 to 13 the young people focus on what they need to do for their future. We work in full partnership with others to provide ONGOING specific work experience as well as dedicated support to get any required qualifications.

I really need to tell you all that the silence from the council office is honestly starting to feel like a message in itself but that just makes me want to push harder for these kids who need a different way to learn. I have been spending my nights sketching out more details on how the project based work will look once we finally get the doors open and it just keeps getting clearer in my head how much this family atmosphere is going to change things for the better.

My son struggles so much in a big classroom. He needs something different like this to stay engaged. Please make it happen.
focusing on work experience is a smart move. my daughter is bored to tears at her current school and this would give her a real goal.
Too many kids fall through the cracks in the current system. This sounds like a great way to actually get them ready for a real job.
FINALLY. Someone is actually thinking about the kids who dont fit the mold. This is exactly what Tameside needs.

Schools are way too big these days. Small is definitely better for some of these kids to actually learn stuff.
