To Steve Stickel and Sonia Syngal, here at Old Navy, located at 5335 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington DC (Store #7173), we, the Brand Associates and Store Managers, have been experiencing unlawful terminations. This petition is designed for the Associates and Managers of store number 7173 to finally stand and have a voice. Unfortunately, there are allegations that majority of the associates are being fired for any small reason to rid the store of its majority black employees and be replaced by their white counterparts. We find that this treatment is unfair, racist, and unjust, and are willing to pursue legal actions if such behavior continues. The great majority of our employees are parents and students, therefore, working in an environment where they are unsure if the day has come to be let go from their job, many of times their only source of income, we believe is not the acquired culture of GAP INC. and Old Navy as a single Brand and is contingent with ones livelihood. Notwithstanding, such behavior is in violation of Gap’s “Zero means Zero” no harassment and discrimination policy (attached below). We hope this petition will began to bring about a change to our store for the better and that you see fit that we, the Brand Associates and Store Managers of 7173, continue to prosper within our work environment without having the color of our skin an issue.
Thank you

This is messed up. I used to work for Old Navy and they always preached equality but this proves it was just talk. Get a lawyer and go public.

To Staff of Old Navy store 7173. Let this situation be known by the other stores/business in your area. They are willing to help. You're not alone in this fight.

I always shop at this stores. I know some of the associates. Saw their teamwork and effort. It's unfortunate that while shopping in this particular store, there's a racism going on. No wonder, I saw a lot of new staff. Were all in this together. P.S you're loyal customer

We are living in a time where racial tensions are at the forefront in social media. It's too ironic that an Old Navy in a predominately white upscale neighborhood is firing it's black staff.
