This email is from the Towson Beltway Total Wine and More Workers. It has come to our attention that Total Wine and More is at the current time doing business with, and selling products from Founders Brewing. This company has been sued for racial discrimination after terminating a Black employee, and reached a settlement with the litigator in November 2019. We do not believe that this company shares the morals of Total Wine and More employees and we do not wish to support their business by continuing to sell their products.
As you are aware of the current news and political situation, and the appropriate response by people all over the world to protest the unjust slaying of unarmed Black people, we believe it is in Total Wine's best interest to disassociate from this notoriously racist company. Furthermore you have a responsibility to your Black employees to affirm that they are safe from harassment and racial discrimination. We must help our Black colleagues, particularly as they are hounded by the racists with impunity. Total Wine and More must offer resources and uplift their voices when they ask for support.
Ignoring this problem is not a viable option, as it would bring harm to Total Wine's customers, workers, and owners. The negative effects of racism have far reaching consequences that cannot be understated and by turning a blind eye to Founders we allow it's negative presence to dwell in our store.
