Councillor Vincent Carroll, Haringey was accused of threatening and being Anti-Semitic towards a fellow Councillor, Sheila Peacock.

Peacock is in her late 80s and Jewish. These threats and comments were sent to her in SMS messages.

Councillor Carroll was also reported previously for Transphobia after he “dead-named” a Trans woman on Twitter. Again, despite this evidence being in written format, Labour has taken no action.

Jewish News reported on the story last week, revealing some worrying details about the composition of the panel and how the hearing continued despite Peacock needing to leave for medical reasons.

We understand she was in hospital days before the hearing due to the stress. We understand Carroll turned up with a Barrister and he cross examined PEACOCK to character assassinate her. The victim was on trial. Labour would not provide Peacock legal representation and as a pensioner she could not afford one.

We also understand Councillors Rice and Williams wrote supporting statements for Carroll, only weeks before Williams spoke on a motion against violence against women. It seems she forgot about fighting against violence against women when her female colleague in her 80’s was threatened by a man.

Enough is enough. Carroll should not be in public office.
