It seems like a common occurrence in our area to be losing loved ones and acquaintances to addiction. Steps have been taken to remove dealers and users from the streets, yet people are still dying. There are far too few services in Watertown, New York for the amount of issues that we have and by signing this petition, we are asking for help for those who need it. There needs to be more services available to addicts and their families in Watertown and other options than there are. Please consider giving those with addiction the gift of life instead of watching everyday as loved ones are being taken. For some it is too late, but for others, this could be life saving. It shouldn't seem so impossible for someone with a disease to receive help but it is here where we live. Please consider how these services could, and will change the lives of our citizens, our neighbors and our loved ones.

I have been reading the stories you all are sharing about the people we have lost and they break my heart every single time. The silence from local leaders remains deafening but your willingness to speak up keeps me going. We are currently figuring out the best way to hand these names over so they cannot ignore the reality of what is happening in our town.

Seeing this momentum grow brings a sliver of hope to a situation that has felt hopeless for too long. If you knew how many nights I spent staring at the walls waiting for a call that never came you would understand why this movement means everything to me.

So true. I've watched my bestfriend fight the battle & it's sad to say I sleep better at night when she's in jail/prison knowing that she'll actually wake up in the morning. Too many beautiful souls lost to something not so beautiful. "Credo" does nothing for people there has to be some other kind of help this place can offer. I hope this actually gets somewhere.

Lena Parker In my profession I spend a lot of time trying to find the proper care for people who suffer from addiction. Most of the time when they have walked into my office they have reached their breaking point. We need a facility in Watertown to help those who don't want to go 70 to 100 miles away to get treatment.

I have lost a few loved ones from drug addiction. My husband went to treatment but wasn't allowed to stay because of the insurance company. This is a epidemic here in watertown. We need help here.

I may not live in Watertown any more, but I AGREE, that people who have an addiction problem, need a place to go in Watertown, so their families can be there and receive help also.
