The administration has taken note of this movement and I have formally requested a meeting with the Board of Regents to present our position. We are now organizing the supplemental documentation to ensure our petition carries the necessary weight during those discussions.

I am a 39 year veteran educator. I graduated Langston in 1974. Dr. Kent Smith is not only and exceptional last, he is the leader Lamson needs right now! Any other discussion is simply not acceptable.
I support Dr. Kent Smith. He's a great leader, president and humanitarian. He's one of few presidents of universities who actually has a heart for the students. Langston University is alive and thriving under his leadership. In conclusion, I just want to say, "Leave Well Enough Alone"!

Not sure what the genesis of all of this is, but can we stop the obsession with finding the next Earnest L. Holloway and recognize when we have a diamond in the making? Dr. Smith is always energetic, has found resources to supplement the continued growth of our "Dear Langston". Feel free to voice whatever grievance you have with him independently. This should not be a silly, political witch hunt that could ultimately end in the rebirth of someone like Dr. Hayesbert. That would be the death nail of our beloved university!
